Casegoods was born out of a passion for materials, a commitment to the act of making, and an awareness of our impact as designers on the shared environment. Our products are rooted in the Indian tradition of craft while remaining considerate to contemporary living.

Traditional & Contemporary Craft

Engaging with a diverse range of workshops and artisanal groups each focusing on a different material, technique, or discipline, we produce finished pieces made from a variety of locally sourced materials. These collaborators come from a lineage of Indian craft that stretches across generations. By combining tacit knowledge and unique skills with relevant contemporary techniques, we look for the most efficient and environmentally responsible system of production specific to each product.

Careful Use of Resources

As designers and manufacturers we are keenly aware of our imprint on culture, consumption, and the environment. To reduce unwanted impact, we use a carefully selected array of natural, reclaimed, recycled, and recyclable materials that are locally available in India. Our palette includes sustainably sourced and reclaimed timber, natural stone, recycled glass, recyclable metals, and natural fibers.

Attention to Detail

Whether it is the honed finish on a marble table top, the hand rubbed patina of a brass dome, or the polished surface of a wooden bowl, each piece is thoroughly inspected before leaving our workshop. We strive to accentuate the character of each piece by highlighting the inherent beauty and subtle variations of grain, figure, and texture found in the materials. Our finishes are either all natural or environmentally friendly and are applied in a way that enables them to patinate through use and time.
