Care guide


Wood

Our wood products are intended to be used and housed indoors. Prolonged exposure to moisture or sunlight may result in warping, discoloration, or other damage to the surface of the material. Casegoods accepts no liability or responsibility for the application of sealer or oil unless it has been applied by an employee or appointed representative of our team.

Oiled Finish

Wipe regularly with a soft dry cotton cloth. Clean as required with a mild detergent specifically intended for wood. Periodically apply a fresh coat of either coconut or almond oil to the product by applying oil to a clean dry cloth and then rubbing the piece to the desired finish. After one hour, any excess oil should be wiped away with a clean cotton cloth. It is alway best to test applications on the least visible surface, often the bottom, when using for the first time. Any spillages incurred through use should be wiped up immediately with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth.

Our Topologic Bowls are finished with food grade oil and can be used for fruits, salads, and other edible items but should not be left in or used to contain liquids for prolonged periods of time. Fluid materials like juices, dressings, or broths may damage the grain structure or stain the surface of the wood.

Sealed Finish

Wipe regularly with a dry cotton cloth. Clean regularly with a wood-specific mild detergent. Any spillages incurred through use should be wiped up immediately with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth..


Brass

We intentionally leave our brass surfaces exposed to age naturally over time and use. If desired, the original polish can be achieved using a brass-specific cleaning agent and a soft cotton cloth.


Stone & Terrazzo

Wipe regularly with a soft dry cotton cloth. Clean as required with a mild, acid-free detergent. Some food and chemical products that contain acids like soft drinks, tea or coffee, citrus fruits, and chemical cleaning products can stain the surface of stone and should be avoided or wiped up immediately if they come in contact.


Leather

Requires special care as is easily stained or spoiled with wet or oily contact. We recommend regularly wiping the surface with a clean soft cloth. If undesired staining occurs, distilled water and a pH-neutral non-detergent liquid soap applied to a soft white microfiber cloth can be gently rubbed into the surface to help lift the discoloration. It is alway best to test applications on the least visible surface, often the bottom, when using for the first time.


Warranty policy


By purchasing any of our Casegoods products you are supporting traditions of craft that have been practiced in India for centuries. Our furniture, lights, and objects are produced in small batches to the highest standards and are designed to last for generations. We stand by our work and guarantee that each piece is free from defects in workmanship and materials and will perform under normal use and conditions.

Variation in natural markings, grain, and figure are intentional characters of each unique piece and are not considered defects. Small splits or mild warping that develops in wood are caused by fluctuation in temperature and humidity and may appear and disappear with time and use. While we have taken careful precautions to mitigate this occurrence, it is an inherent quality of the material itself and will not affect durability or lifespan of the product under normal conditions.

If questions or concerns arise, please contact us immediately at mail@casegoods.in with details and ideally images pertaining to the problem. This will provide us with an opportunity to understand the concern and provide a solution. In the event of a failure or problem in a specific  component, we carry spare fixtures and can arrange shipment of parts to you and professional guidance on replacement. In some instances we may request returning the product to our workshop for repairs or review. Each situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis (no pun intended) and if deemed necessary, we will arrange for a replacement product or refund.


Returns

If an order with us needs to be cancelled for any reason, you will need to contact us immediately if it has been purchased directly from our team. We cannot accept returns on custom orders or products purchased through our stockists or retailers unless there are defects in workmanship or materials. Products must be returned as they were delivered and boxed or sufficiently protected for transport to our workshop.

After we are contacted and have reviewed the request, we will make a determination on the viability of the return and provide a response within 7 working days. Authorisation for a return will be based on the criteria listed above and a careful understanding of the problem, cause of damage, condition of the product, or reason for the return.
